Beatrix is talented at sword wielding. It's been said that solo fights are her specialty and that she thrives under adversity. All of her movesets reflect this in which she fights with an enmity style, the more she gets hurt, the stronger she becomes. Not only do her attacks get stronger under pressure but she's also capable of dodging and dealing a barrage of attacks when she's low on health. Her default element is dark but she also fights with fire and earth magic. In battle, she's also capable of dealing debuffs that weaken an opponent's elemental attack, depending on what element she's in. Her sword, Embrasque also changes it's appearance to match whatever outfit she wears.
With the current state Embrasque is in, she will be nerfed down to her Earth SR's moveset. For game purposes, this means that she will only be able to use earth magic and her overall attacking power will be weakened.
Aside from her combat abilities, she is also quite skilled at cooking. However, much to the amazement of everyone and herself anything she cooks always ends up tasting like desserts. Beatrix herself isn't even sure how she's capable of this. On the plus side, the sweets she bakes are so good it's addicting.

BACKGROUND: Fate episode dialogue
» While we're not shown details, it has been stated that before the events of the game, Beatrix was originally from a noble family. Unfortunately, everything ended up being taken from her by enemies of the Society. She lost her status and her family. Because of her fall from nobility, she ended up getting bullied by those around her. However, instead of taking everything out on her bullies, she instead swore revenge against the people who killed her family. This event is the catalyst that shapes up her competitive personality.
» In order to get revenge against her enemies, Beatrix joins the Society, a large organization that has strongholds in various skydoms. A lot of their actions are shrouded in secrecy and their true motives remain unknown. Beatrix herself is unaware of their shady actions. As a member of the Society, she is expected to investigate and take out anything that might pose a threat to their organization. After joining, she was given her sword that she uses in combat, she refers to it as "Embrasque" and it's a sword capable of killing Primal Beasts.
» Her first appearance in the game is in the event "Gripping Freedom". After learning that they group they've been looking into has been housing two Primal Beasts, she jumps at the chance at wanting to take them down in order to prove herself. She sets the event into motion by rushing into enemy terriority all alone. Here, she strikes a deal with Guzaletha, leader of the Odajumoki gang, he claims to also want to destroy all primal beasts and agrees to let Beatrix destroy the ones they are housing under the guise she join their group. Recluctantly, she agrees to join. However, her intentions are to not only get rid of the beasts but to also take down the entire group as well. Unfortunately, since she was so blinded by ambition, she failed to realize that Guzaletha saw right through her plans and was just using her to draw out the Player and crew. In an attempt to get the crew's attention, the Odajumoki gang tie up Beatrix to one of their dogsleds, wanting to both humiliate her and use her as a decoy. This action causes Beatrix to realize that rushing in alone was a terrible mistake and once freed, she learns the error of her ways and joins with the Player in order to get revenge against the Odajumoki gang. The power of team work comes through and with their combined forces, they are able to take down the Primal Beasts and Guzaletha.
» After the events above, she joins the crew, becoming close with the player and Lyria as she gets to know and go on missions with them. Although she's a member, she is still also a working for the Society and if called upon, she has to temporarily leave to complete any mission ordered to her.
» In the event "Second Advent" We're introduced to the admin of the Society, Alandus. Beatrix learns that he's the one who invented the weapons and devices that are used by Society members. Alandus tells the members he would like to research their weapons in more detail and asks them to hand it over, Beatrix is reluctant given her attachment to Embrasque but she's convinced by Eustace, another member of the Society to give up her sword. Later on, she learns that Eustace and others have secretly been looking into the Society, they also learn that the Society is enemies with the people on the moon for reasons unknown to them.
After a reunion with the Player and Lyria, Beatrix goes on a short mission with them and they run into an injured Cassius, who happens to be a moondweller. They patch up and decide to take him with them to get him better treatment from healers. Upon return, the group does some digging on Alandus and after secretly barging into his study, they learn that he plans to create an ancient weapon that the Society refers to as Automagods. Beatrix finds out out that Alandus plans on using their weapons in order to create the "Perfect" Automagod and she rushes in, wanting to save Embrasque. Once they are able to locate him, they find the gruesome site of Alandus' dead body, realizing that he managed put his own brain into an Automagod. While everyone else was able to get their weapons back, Beatrix unfortunately doesn't get Embrasque back in time and as a result, the machine absorbs her sword and completes powering up the Automagod.
At first, she despairs over the loss of her beloved sword but when the gang formulates a plan to get it back, they tell her that they believe in her and that she's the lynchpin of the plan. Those words are able to bring her bring her out of her slump and give her the determination that she needs. Since Beatrix claims to be able to hear her weapon's voice, the plan is for her to rush at Alandus, pin point where her sword is being held at and free it. As she's fighting, Beatrix laments that all of her achievements were all thanks to Embrasque and that only when paired together, they are unstoppable. Those thoughts and help from her friends gives her the push she needs and she's able to retrieve her sword, albeit in a broken state but she's still happy to have it back. Because of her efforts at weakening the Automagod's powers, her other fellow Society associates, Zeta and Vaseraga are able to use their team work and defeat the machine once and for all.
At the end of Second Advent, Beatrix vows to fix Embrasque. Although she's deeply saddened at the loss of her beloved partner, she's currently doing her best to maintain a positive attitude by moving forward. Throughout the course of her journey with the crew she's gotten much better at learning how to rely on others, while still maintaining her own strengths. Her strong fighting spirit had enabled her to take down Alandus and free Embrasque but only because her friends had encouraged her to do. In some ways, she's actually been humbled down since Gripping Freedom and doesn't let her ambitions take over. Instead of claiming glory for herself, she's been giving credit to others, especially towards the Player and Embrasque. Beatrix feels at fault for losing her sword, blaming it on her own weaknesses and regretting ever giving it up in the first place. But she swears that as soon as it's fixed, she's going to do better in order to be a more adequate partner for Embrasque.
» This attitude has been reflected in Kappa Summer Chronicle. Despite her heavy loss, she still acts cheerful and much like her normal Beatrix-self. She hasn't let the lost of her partner get to her, as she's shown happily enjoying the summer vacation. Because of her improvements, the Society seems to also be more rely on her a bit more, seeing her as more responsible by letting both her and Zetababysitwatch over Cassius during their vacation on Tono Island. When the crew runs into Kyuta, a kappa with no experience of the outside world gets lost, Beatrix is one of the first to agree into helping him almost immediately. Along with wanting to get him back home, the crew also wants to show Kyuta what the outside world is like.
Eventually, the crew learn about Kyuta's past and the secret history of the Kappas. They find an underground sushi workshop during a festival and see a bunch of Kappa making sushi and overworking themselves, Kyuta reveals that this his home. Long ago, they were messengers of the island's water god and were cherished among island dwellers. Their role was to help the island's priest with divine offerings, which is later on referred to as sushi. Unfortunately, the island ended up being hit with calamity, due to an old war. The Kappa ended up being in grave danger but the priest was able to keep them safe by hiding them underground. However, over the course of many generations, their natural habitat was slowly transformed into more modern cities for humans. Many of them ended up dying out and this caused them to return back to Tono Island, the priest was more than happy at their return and agreed to keep them safe. Because the Kappa felt indebted, the old tradition of working together with the priest in order to make sushi was revived. The Kappa does the preparations while the priest, now known as being a sushi chef, does the forming of the delicacy. This story is how Kyuta's resturant, Miyasato came to be and why it's highly regarded as being the finest restaurant on the island.
Being famous ends up being a double edged sword for everyone involved, due to the restaurant's popularity, the kappa end up being overworked and are constantly tired. Even the head chef succumbs to the pressure and ends up falling ill due to physical exhaustion. The crew finds out he was also lectured by Friday, a woman who wants to ensure that no one is overworked at the expense of their health. The Sushi chef comes to a realization that constantly working has been putting a burden on everyone and resigns to closing the shop for the summer. However, Kyuta realizes that the chef wants nothing more than to see the smiles of people and together with the Player, they vow to watch over the restaurant by becoming junior chefs while the head chef recovers. The rest of the crew also want to do their part in helping out. Beatrix who is always more than willing to help others out, easily agrees to this. She even mentions that this will be a fun way to enjoy their vacation and has zero problems having their relaxation interrupted. Although as enthusiastic as she is, she gets delegated to dish washing duty. Mostly due to fear of her sushi turning out to be sweet like candy if she was doing the preparations. She's a bit annoyed by the thought but she's shown to have matured, taking the task with full on determination and promises to clean dishes like a champ.
There were a few small bumps in the road while everyone was learning the art of sushi making. At first, Beatrix is overwhelmed by the amount of dishes she has to wash but when a kappa offers to do them for her, she gets motivated to clean every single one of them, not wanting to put a burden on the Kappa. Eventually, the crew and Kyuta are able to understand the art of sushi making and they open the restaurant for business and are determined to put a smile on every single customer's face. Not wanting to see everyone overworked, Friday secretly barges into the underground and destroys their ingredients. Not wanting to let the customers down, Beatrix and the crew resolve to catching fish in the sea in order to make up for the lost ingredients. After being captured by Siegfried and the dragon knights, Friday agrees to help the crew, by supplying her own special ingredients; fried prawn. Other members of the crew, Ghandaghoza and Sig end up catching the God fish, Albacore. Everyone's hard work pays off and they are able to bring happiness to every customer and put smiles on their faces. The Sushi chef, kappa and even the crew all take away valuable lessons from this event. While traditions can be good, sticking through it in unsuitable situations can be bad for everyone. One should always be open minded and willing to change things up. There's nothing wrong with wanting to ensure customer's happiness but not at the expense of one's health. It's baby steps but this event has shown Beatrix has indeed grown as a person. She still maintains her priorities in wanting to help others but not simply because it's the right thing to do, she genuinely wants to see the happiness of people, even if the job she's given isn't glamorous. While the current state of Embrasque has yet to be shown or brought up, Beatrix is keeping true to her word of wanting to be and do better as a person upon Embrasque's return.
PERSONALITY:
At her core, Beatrix is a very prideful individual. She's always yearning to obtain glory and because of this, she tends to value success and achievements above all else. All of this stems from her unfortunate background. Sometime before joining the society, her noble family lost their status and because of this, she wants nothing more than to show off to the people who made fun of her and prove to the world that she is strong. Because of how much she craves for success, this does tend to land her into a lot of trouble. Stubborn and extremely competitive to a fault, she will go as far as to risk her own life at the expense of showing off her abilities. Beatrix works with a "Act first, think later" type of mindset. It's very common for her to rush into danger all alone in order to prove herself to the rest of her fellow society members and earn their praise. But even with her one-track mind, she somehow manages to complete her missions much to the bewilderment of her friends. While there might be some bumps in the road at the beginning, it usually ends well for her. Although in the process of constantly getting into trouble, she claims that she's become a pro at freeing herself from captured. Vaseraga has stated that her unfaltering will, while can be a deadly weapon can also be her greatest weakness and at times does cause her own downfall. Sometimes she does tend to come off as being a bit dumb, to the point where the Society members don't quite trust her with anything top secret in fear of her accidentally running her mouth to someone. Although she means well, strategy is absolutely not her forte and all of her actions are based on emotion rather than logic.
However, despite her shortcomings, Beatrix never lets failure get the better of her. At first, she will complain and sulk but no matter how much she's humiliated, she is very good at looking past her losses and uses it in order to strengthen herself. She rarely ever lets anything get her down and has a cheerful aura surrounding her. She has a tendency to get easily excitable, especially if it involves showing off. There are times she can be arrogant, especially if it's something that she knows she's talented at. Of course, being the prideful person that she is, she can be a bit pushy about showing off her abilities and can come across as being quite obnoxious and annoying but overall, she has good intentions and doesn't mean it anything bad by it. If someone tells her that she needs to improve on a certain aspect, she'll get annoyed at first but her competitive streak compels her to better herself in order to prove any naysayer wrong.
Due to her foolhardy nature and the way she overreacts, she's become an easy target for bullying among the Grandcypher and fellow society members. Unfortunately for her, it's not something that she takes pride in. In fact, she absolutely hates being made the butt of a joke and will endlessly whine and pout in retaliation. Of course, Beatrix isn't really the smartest person and can be quite gullible. It doesn't take much for her to believe a joke. When it comes to romantic interactions, she's also shown to get quite embarrassed and easily flustered, as implied by some of the dialogue she has with the player character during certain holidays. So much to her dismay, it hasn't occurred to her that she's easy to tease.
Even though she can be arrogant, Beatrix is kindhearted. If she happens to see someone in trouble, she doesn't hesitate to help them. As seen in Second Advent, she jumped in to help an injured Cassius even though she had know idea who he was and if he might pose a threat to the Society. When he asks her why she went out of her way, she responds to him by telling him that it's simply an act of kindness. Her loyalty to her friends and comrades is unwavering. While she does get frustrated if they leave her out of anything, she still will go out of her way for them. She has a close knit-friendship with fellow society member, Zeta to the point where they constantly worry about each other (more-so on Zeta's side than Bea's) and even go as far as to wear matching outfits. Through fate episodes and events, Beatrix has developed a fondness for the player character to the point where they've become one of the people she trusts the most. It's been stated that Beatrix will pretty much listen to anything that the player says, she even goes as far as to give them credit in Second Advent, realizing that she wasn't able to grow as a person if it wasn't for them. She also doesn't hesitate to shower her friends with compliments and praise. One of her most important relationships is with her sword, Embrasque. She considers Embrasque to be her partner, so much so that when she loses her sword, her normally prideful self easily breaks down and is inadequate without her partner. She claims to feel it's pain and hear it's voice much to the skepticism of others. In Second Advent, Beatrix is the most reluctant out of the members to give up her sword when ordered and when she fights to obtain it back, she credits all of her victory to Embrasque and that it was because of her sword, she was able to overcome any trial thrown at her.
Although she can act rather feisty and speaks in a rough manner indicating that she's not exactly lady-like, she is actually quite girly. She loves cute things and one of her favorite hobbies is shopping for clothes. Beatrix takes her appearance very seriously and her second priority after obtaining achievement is to make sure she looks cute while kicking butt.
