[ He laughs, picking up a muffin. What he says is true, though. He's used to traveling with other people, so here he has felt alone. It's strange... Fai is used to feeling alone, but losing his traveling companions has magnified that feeling. ]

I have. However... I'm glad for it. I'd rather they not be here, so I don't mind bearing that burden by myself.

[ It would be too hard on his companions, he thinks. Plus... he really doesn't want the added layer of synchrony when it comes to his relationship with Kurogane. Everything between them is already complicated enough. ]

[ The fact that he puts the safety of his friends above his own loneliness totally proves that he's a good person. In retrospect, now she kind of feels bad complaining to Sanji here recently about not having any of her close companions with her. ]
